We're excited to announce the release of v12.0.0 🎉
This release includes a full redesign of the system, a new Kanban manufacturing view, as well as numerous optimizations and validation improvements. Banners will appear on servers approximately two weeks prior to the release specifying the exact date and time of the update.
New Year, New Look!
Shipedge has a whole new look! The OMS & WMS have been given a complete overhaul with a redesigned menu, new styles, colors, fonts, and more to provide a more accessible and consistent experience.
New Features
Kanban Manufacturing
Manufacturing has been updated to include a Kanban board! Now, each manufacturing order is represented with a card that can be moved to different columns which indicate the different statuses of manufacturing. The main purpose of representing work as a card on the Kanban board is to allow team members to track progress through its workflow in a highly visual manner.
Initiating a manufacturing order still begins in the Pending view with the same process, however once in Processing new options such as Get Work Order and View Kanban are available.
WMS
- In the Kanban view
- Manufacturing orders are represented with cards with filters available to allow displaying by Account (OMS), Template, and/or Ship number. If no Ship number is specified, all orders using the same template will display.
- The status of the order can be updated based on the assigned template with statuses representing each stage of manufacturing.
- In the Processing view
- Manufacturing orders now have a View Kanban button to quickly switch to the Kanban view. When loaded, the view will be automatically filtered with the Account, Template, and Ship number of the selcted order. From the Kanban view the status of the order can be updated.
- Manufacturing orders will display a Get Work Order button in the Processing view (in place of Get Label). Work Orders provide a list of the SKUs that make up the finished product along with their locations, quantities, etc.
- Manufacturing orders that are divided will not only generate a new order but are also added to the Kanban board for separate tracking of manufacturing status.
- When an order is completed (finished goods assembled), the user can review the expected finished quantity and assign the bin where the finished goods will be stored. Once done/completed, the order will clear from the processing view. Manufacturing orders can be completed in two ways:
- Kanban View - Moving the card to the Done status
- Processing View - Selecting one or more orders then selecting Actions→Complete Manufacturing or selecting Complete Manufacturing in the individual order located below the Get Work Order button.
OMS
- Synsets created with a BOM SKU now have an additional option to Assign & Create Templates. Templates allow you to define the different stages (statuses) of the manufacturing process ensuring no steps are missed when the WMS is assembling the finished product. A default template is included which provides Backlog, Assembly, and Done statuses.
- Synsets with a BOM SKU can have instructions and PDF attachments added that are available to the WMS during the manufacturing process.
Unexpected Returns Webhook
A new Unexpected Return webhook has been added to the OMS which triggers when a return is initiated and submitted by the WMS. The payload will contain all the same information as the Simple Return Received webhook.
API v4 - New Attributes Endpoint
A new OMS Attributes endpoint has been added. This allows users to GET, POST, PATCH, and DELETE account, order, and product attributes. This data is visible in the OMS/WMS➝Inventory➝Metadata view.
Server Status
Server Status has been added as a new view in the WMS accessible from the System Config menu. This view provides certain server details such as the version and the timezone as well as displaying a queue of processes running. Visibility to processes can be helpful in situations such as understanding why orders may be taking a long time to process.
Improvements
WMS
- The BIN History view has been revamped and includes a dynamic filter section allowing users to fine-tune their search results. Within the History section, columns were rearranged and added to provide more detailed information related to the bin.
- Note: In the Warehouse (Inventory) view selecting an individual bin will take you to the updated history view. Location links in the view have been temporarily disabled and in an upcoming release they will direct the user to the Locations view and automatically filter by the selected location.
- Optimizations have been made when moving large orders from Pending to Processing which allows smaller orders to process while the larger orders are still processing. This will help avoid scenarios where a group of mixed orders won't make it to processing promptly due to large orders "holding up" the queue.
- Packaging Exclusivity has been improved ensuring better compatibility with different Packaging Prediction options as well as better validiations for SKU selection based on the specified OMS.
- The Auto-Processing function has been updated to support UOM and MIX_UOM type orders.
- In the Replenishments view, when changing the UOM Unit Factor from one to another, the calculation was updated to ensure that what is selected is properly divisible by the number of units.
- Advanced Filters have been updated to allow filtering by the UOM unit factor. Users can set a min/max value and by default, any order with a line item within the min/max will be returned. An Exact Match checkbox is also included to enable matching all line items of an order.
- When performing a Move in both Web and Mobile, users can now select a destination bin with a different UOM unit factor and the system will automatically calculate the pack quantity. This allows full or partial moves and unit factor conversion in one function. Note: SKU, lot, and expiration date must match to be valid for a move.
- In the Corrections view, a retry button was added when a correction record is in an error status to allow the system to attempt processing the record again.
- Improved the All Transactions page so that when a value is input into the Search field or column header filters, it persists when editing a transaction or navigating between pages. Previously it would reset causing the user to have to reenter the search each time.
OMS
- In the Upload Orders view, the file history was added so that users no longer need to navigate to a separate view to see the upload history.
- When adding new Integrations (Channels), validations were added to the Channel Name to prevent the use of special characters.
- When configuring Third Party Billing (3PT) for sales channels the Phone Number field was added as it is required when the 3PT is billed for duty payments for FedEx.
- Sets (Synsets) view was updated to support UOMs. Changes include:
- Ability to select UOM when creating or editing a Synset
- Ability to include a UOM (name) when managing Synsets via CSV
- Display of the UOM name when viewing configured Synsets
- Available Qty now accounts for UOM to ensure accurate inventory reporting to sales channels.
- API Errors now includes a Create Alias shortcut button within the detail section of an order.
- API Errors➝Re-check Errors was updated to validate against Aliases to allow the order to clear if a new Alias was created to resolve a SKU error.
- API v4
- POST & PATCH /Inventory/Products endpoint has been updated to allow users to upload product images when creating (POST) or updating (PATCH) a SKU.
- GET/Orders endpoint response payload has been updated to include an array that displays Lot and Expiration Date information for the SKUs in the order.
System Wide
- The SKU History view has been updated to ensure an accurate representation of all history. Additionally, columns were rearranged and added to provide more detailed information related to the SKU.
- Old View buttons throughout the OMS and WMS that linked to deprecated views have been removed.
- Note: In an upcoming release, access to old views will be fully restricted so be sure to update your bookmarks!
- Improvements were made in the Order Detail view to help prevent actions from being taken when the order is no longer in a valid status for the corresponding action. For example, not being able to mark an order as shipped when it's already in a shipped status. This will be beneficial for users that frequently work in multiple tabs as the order view will automatically refresh each time the tab is selected again.
- The Pending/Backorders view (accessible via Inventory➝SKU➝History➝Select qty Hold) was updated to include the Order number as well as updating Ship numbers links to direct to the correct view.
Bug Fixes
WMS
- Corrected an issue when editing package dimensions in bulk where in some cases the dimensions entered would not save correctly. This would typically occur when entering custom dimensions not associated with a preset package.
- Corrected an issue that when viewing a Replenishment if the SKU details were downloaded the CSV would contain HTML code causing the file to not display correctly.
- Corrected an issue on the Picking page where the filter wouldn't apply after selecting Save Filter.
- Corrected an issue in the Picking➝Jobs view where a cancelled order may still display in the view or show on the printed Picking Summary.
- Corrected an issue in the Picking view where the filtering and sorting by column headers were not functioning correctly.
- Corrected an issue that would cause the Handling Tiers view not to load when configuring the price plan for an OMS.
- Corrected an issue when attempting to process a large amount of manufacturing orders that would result in system data being displayed and the orders would not properly process.
- Corrected an issue in the mobile app when putting away a serialized item into a Hurt location would not prompt the serial number input. Note: Updating to app v25.5.0 required.
OMS
- Corrected an issue where in some cases an order could be imported with an inactive Ship Method. In these cases, the orders will now go into API error allowing the user to pick a valid and active Ship Method for the order.
- Corrected an issue where the Back To Inventory and Ship # links in the Priority List/Assignment view would take the user to an old view.
System Wide
- Corrected an issue with the Inventory Adjustment report that when setting an Adjustment Quantity the report would not generate.
- Corrected an issue in multiple views when entering an email address where it would not properly validate and could result in a duplicate email being added to the system.
